| Well almost, We have had a busy old couple of months since returning to Torpoint :-) The end of October and beginning of November were spent finding our feet, trying to tie up loose ends in Southampton. Mid November saw Mum and Papa trying out their new wheels and visiting us down in Torpoint. Highlights were trips to Looe, Perranporth to visit Anne-Marie and Lewis, swimming and going to a pop up cafe at the local church, one that will be talked about for many years no doubt! For my birthday present we made more memories for our treasure box by visiting the festival of light at Longleat, a real treat and a sight to behold. It put us in a real festive spirit, despite getting lost in the maze in the dark! Early December we hired a cottage at Bough Beach, using the money we have saved from not buying presents to hire the cottage and invite people over for cake, tea, dinner or all of the above. There was an amazing turn out of friends and we had a lovely time with Mike's grandparents and Mum who also treated us to an ice skating trip, which we all enjoyed. We stopped via Southampton to pick up our post and were treated to Holy Trinity Church's live nativity always very well executed. It is always so hard leaving when so much love comes our way and leaves us wondering why we live so far away. And then we get home, the views, the space, the fresh air and of course the Cornish sunshine! We got to spend an evening with family at the 9 Carols and Lessons in their beautiful friendly church after a fabulous lunch. Not sure how much more Christmas spirit we can fit in. Yesterday we managed a swimming trip after the children missed their last two lessons of the term while we were visiting in Kent. We are pleased to say they remain fish like, also as it is the holiday the inflatable was in the main pool. The first time Mia was old enough and capable to go on it. For those of you who know Mia well it was a sight to behold very amusing, but she managed it becoming quicker and more confident. Although when the lifeguard was using a bucket to splash them she was having none of it. He got her by accident once, oh if looks could kill!!!! Today we visited Cotehele to see their Christmas garland, we had been gifted the entry and as we stood at the entry point we saw the yearly membership. We did it, we became old fuddy duddies with a National Trust membership car parking sticker! Lol Cotehele was beautiful, very festive with traditional music in the hall and I even tricked Mike under the mistletoe! We enjoyed the gallery shop there were some amazing pieces of art, very sad we do not have safe places to put gorgeous pieces. I settled on some nice notepads so I can write to you lovely lot. A big thank you to Grandma and Grandpa for Cotehele and to donations to our treasure box we will have many more memories and educational visits to local and National Trust properties across the country over the next year. On the list is Anthony House which is just up the road and we have been in the grounds for forest school, but we were too tight to pay to see in the house! While we were at Cotehele, Mike picked up 50 things to do before you are 11 and 3/4 I think we have missed geocaching off. One to figure out in the new year. Thank you to all those that have taken time out of their lives to be a part of ours, know you are cherished and everyone one of our encounters makes it into our treasure box. Lastly we we would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas, we hope that this last year has been kind to you and the New Year brings you peace and joy, all our love The Pirates xxxxx |
