He is working really hard and all those things we have done to fill gaps are being taken out and installed properly and finally (hopefully). The watermaker is in place we just need to buy new filters, freezer is installed (yippee), table fitted, seating area just needs a piece of ply for the seat back, children's bunks have changed to allow two fixed lower bunks for storage, the two higher bunks are still hung.
Jobs left for the inside, declutter (!!!!!), seat back, storage and headlining.
Jobs for the outside, sand, fill and paint topsides, sand masts and varnish, prepare underwater area for antifouling.
Sat here trying to be landlubbers is getting increasingly hard for us all, but the improvements are and will continue to build on our quality of life aboard.
May's landbased adventures
Landhydrock, it's bluebell wood was in full bloom what a fabulous sight, the house was unfortunately full of exotic animal paraphernalia such as an elephants foot for a brolly stand, tigers, leopards and reindeer skins it made us all quite sad.
Beautiful house and grounds though looking forward to going back and exploring their bike trails.
Mike went back and explored Lansallos, with the children, the 'white snowdrops' we found were in fact three cornered leek and very tasty.
I got to meet with some lovely sailing ladies and swapped stories about our trips and maintenance.
We visited Pirate weekend at the barbican in Plymouth, it wasn't all we had hoped for, unfortunately. However some lovely friends came to visit and we had a lovely evening together.
The next day saw us go to St Ives music and food festival, it was delicious and the music was good. The Vodka is delicious.
A rather wet Calstock regatta, reminded me of my rowing days and we explored Kit hill on our way back where I broke a flip flop!
A lovely day at Burrator reservoir, thanks to a tip off. We made mice, bread over the fire, explored owl pellets and enjoyed building.
We were graced by some lovely friends and visited the Eden project with them. They never fail to impress, there was a gaming week on for half term with loads of activities all included in the entrance price including go karting. Bead pictures, old 8 bit computer games, story tellers. It is just a wonderful day out to explore and be. We all tried out Devon and Cornwall pub in Millbrook which served delicious food and were really family friendly.
And of course lots of beach days!
Mia got a place at the local Cubs and has started sailing with Horizons in Plymouth..... Just to find the other two some activities.
And then the weather has kicked in and we are back to January with high winds and heavy rain!
We hope this finds you all well and you have had a wonderful May and are looking forward to June
Much love
The Pirates xxxxx
