The south coast of England is far from calm with the winds currently making dinghy rides to the row to interesting at best and tedious at worst after 3 long months we caved in! We hate letting Janna take to the ground as historically she has tended to just fall over :-( but we keep being told at various places 'don't worry it is really soft mud you will sink in just nicely'. Just after the New Year on neaps tides we moved her to a drying berth. We had a little lean to start but fingers crossed even on springs we are comfortable in the mud.
The doldrums had hit us when we returned from Plymouth as reality hit us and despite the joy of seeing and being close to family and friends we were no longer cruising. Holed up for the winter, every trip we have had planned has either had no wind or way too much wind.
We came to the realisation that we are unlikely to go anywhere soon so gave up our all tidal mooring, for the comfort of a drying mooring but walkashore.
Mike has started repairs, fitting and modifications on the boat as I have returned to day shifts in a bid to give Mike more time :-)
We also had a furry visitor, rat traps with peanut butter work well fingers crossed there were no more hiding.
Happy New Year to you all, may it be kind xxx all our love xxx
