The story so far Janna 2006-2014
So 2006 saw us purchase this beast for £1600.00! The door fell off in our hand we destroyed a jetty, rebuilt and strengthened the jetty. Then we moved on!
2007 saw lots of building work! Galley was created, wood burner installed, cats re- homed, jetty redecked and lots of little bits on the side. We also found out we were expecting our first little pirate :)
2008 seemed like a quiet year but we were refitting another boat Mike owned a quarter tonner. This is Mia's temporary bed being constructed!
2009 saw us improve the window situation, choosing a supplier and saving to buy them Mike then altered the holes from oval to circles and our lovely brass hatch in the forepeak. We located our masts in a shed at Whitton Marine and our little pirate was growing. Mike stopped work and I returned to full time nursing so he could work full time on our boat!
2010 was a busy busy year. The galley moved on, Mia grew, the cockpit was completely rebuilt from its rotten state, a permanent double bunk was made under the cockpit. We discovered we were expecting pirate number 2!
2011 saw many changes pirate number 2 came Jacob, we had the masts transported from Kent, e brought an engine and had both lifted on in July. We had to be towed down to Drivers Dry Berthing by Ralph! What an experience!
Well as you can see 2014 has been our busiest year! She was lifted out in July, where Mike repaired the keel a far bigger job than we imagined. We put the new skin fittings in and painted her bottom. Since then we have been getting her ready to have her rig up and last week we were rewarded with them. She looks glorious now and 8 years on from her derelict state we almost have a working boat :)
